Winter Beauty

We've been blessed early with a fair amount of snow during November.  The most recent storms over the last weeks dropped enough to add up to about 10 inches. As we move into December we still have a bit on the ground.

The beauty of this area is only enhanced with this white frosting laying atop it all. The River steaming as though its hotter than the Latte they just made you at the store. It's quiet now. The summer hussle and bussle is absent, replaced with solitude, peacefulness, and unsurpassed beauty. The folks here have moved into a slower pace than the world that surounds them. Guests find themselfs slowing and calming a bit, taking the time to play in the snow, and appriciate all this area offers.

The big Bull Trout are hungry it seems, as the fly fisher folk report their sucess stories. It appears the anglers have been rewarded for bundling up and venturing out into the winter beauty.

It goes unsaid that winter in Camp Sherman on the Metolius River is different than summer, just as it is anywhere. But if you've never been here during this quieter time, we suggest you take time.
