L.C. Ranch - Private - September 5th, 2005
supplied by: Fishwest Outfitters
FISHING: Great maps
The L.C. Ranch is still fishing well and should continue this way (and get better).  Big fish are actively cruising the shallows for an easy meal.  They are rising to dry flies (mostly terrestrials) and they are eating suspended nymphs / emergers (AP Emergers, BH Copper Johns, etc).

Look for the Ranch to get better and better as the weather begins cool going into September and October.

This year's surprise pond is Honeymoon.  After a few years of cookie-cutter rainbows, these fish have decide to get big and healthy.

FISHING: Excellent maps
To recap the 2004 season, only one word can describe it: “Phenomenal”.  We caught plenty of fish, but we also caught some real quality fish.  The ice is off the and the action has picked up right where it left off!

The L.C. Ranch is the only place that we guide that is not being effected by high waters and odd fishing scenarios.  The ranch is fishing exceptionally well.  The fish are up on dries and suspended nymphs.  Streamers are also producing some nice fish.  If you want to catch some nice fish and have some great action, book your L.C. Ranch trip today!

The latest report is that some of the waters are still slightly stained from the ice melt, but that is not slowing things down at all.  Right now the rule of thumb is streamers and buggers.  The fish are extremely agressive and will chase your fly down from quite a distance.  DO NOT give up on your retreive until you can see your fly and that you have no chasers.  Plenty of fish are chasing and will hit within a few feet of the bank.  Ginger and white colors seem to be the colors right now, but that can always change.  Don't be afraid to throw any color...what is the worst that can happen?  You might have to tie on another fly.

FISHING: Fair maps
Well, after having arguably the best season on the ranch in years, we are chomping at the bit to get back at it this spring.  While the ponds are frozen now, we are still taking reservations for the “Ranch 2005”.  On average, the ponds ice off around March 23rd and the fishing is hot right from the word “go”.

L.C. Ranch - Private - October 26th, 2004

FISHING: Excellent maps
This has been a phenomenal year at the L.C. Ranch, not only for numbers of fish, but for quality fish!  This fall has been great and the fish continue to cooperate.  There is still time to hit the Ranch before the ponds freeze.

The LC is still the best fishing to be found right now....The fish have been actively cruising the shelves for food and the have been keying on terrestrials and suspended nymphs.  Fish have also been taken while stripping small nymphs.

While the smaller ponds continue to produce some great fish, the large ponds like "The Dog" have really started to come alive.  The fish in the Dog are crusing looking for a good meal.

On a recent trip, we had fish destroy terrestrial patterns, eating the droppers and chasing down stripped nymphs, like AP Emergers.  When the fish changed their mind, we gave them something different...some real consistent action right now.

There are a lot of ponds that hold fish and most of them never get explored.  Our biggest fish this year have come out of the more remote, smaller ponds.  This fall is your chance to land a real trophy trout.

This has been a phenomenal year at the L.C. Ranch, not only for numbers of fish, but for quality fish!  We are expecting an amazing fall season, so book early.  Missing the LC Ranch this fall would just be wrong, really wrong!

The LC is still the best fishing to be found right now....The fish have been actively cruising the shelves for food and the have been keying on terrestrials and suspended nymphs.  Fish have also been taken while stripping small nymphs.

Over the last week or two, we have been having most of our success in the smaller ponds while stalking cruisers.  As the weather continues to cool, the larger ponds like the Dog and Honeymoon will absolutely come alive!

On a trip over this last weekend, we had fish destroy terrestrial patterns, eating the droppers and chasing down stripped nymphs, like AP Emergers.  When the fish changed their mind, we gave them something different...some real consistent action right now.
