Sol Duc River - December 27th, 2003
supplied by: Fishing Northwest
RECORDED:
34 °
FISHING: Good
In real decent shape right now but the water is a tad on the chilly side due to our recent subfreezing night time temps. Talked with fellow guide Larry Scott today and he several very bright and feisty Steelhead ripping line from his clients reels. Should start to see some more of those "Snider crk" Steelhead moving through in the next few weeks, there have been plenty of reports from the plunkers in the Quillayute River lately re catching significant numbers of these.
Note: It is strictly catch and release on ALL Wild Steelhead above the Sappho Salmon Hatchery and regulations stipulate that only artificial lures with single barbless hooks may be used up here NO BAIT. The WDFG has been vigorously patrolling this upper section of the Sol-Duc River and the fines are substantial for violators.

Sol Duc River - November 2nd, 2003
supplied by: Aventure Northwest Guide Service
FISHING: Good
Yes the rivers are fishable and have been since last friday. The fishing has been fantatic with limits on kings and silvers for just about everybody, even the novice fishermen are doing well.
Yesterday was slow with the east winds blowing but if you fished hard you got your fish. Bob Kratzer had a 50 pound king out of the Soleduck today and the silvers were running around a ten pound average with some weighing in at over 20 pounds.
The Quillayute system is starting to get low now and believe it or not we could use another shot of rain.
